The aural tradition of learning jazz is key to Jazz Master Tracks. Internalizing the standards, understanding the harmony, listening to the individual players and transcribing the masters is a time-honored way to learn the jazz language.
Being able to listen to each instrument in solo mode allows you to hear every detail, every breath. Easy navigation and bookmarks help you learn the phrases by ear — by far the most efficient way. The benefits of transcription cannot be overemphasized: your ears, technique and memory are trained simultaneously.
The app also allows you to interact with the recordings, either as a soloist or as part of the rhythm section. You get the chance to participate in the exciting performance of a great band.
The albums are created specifically for the Jazz Master Tracks app. Each full album is available as an in-app purchase. Purchasing an “Album in an App” loads the album into the dedicated stem player as a practice tool with the full range of features. It also permits you to download the hi-fi stereo mix of the album to your personal music library for listening on other devices.
The user interface is simple and intuitive, and made for musicians. The main view permits easy navigation and the looping of entire parts for playing along. The zoom view has lots of tools for making transcribing easy. Check the user guide for detailed instructions.

No, as the music is copyright protected the app is bundled with the purchase of one song from our first release, Vol. 1, Standards Sessions, permitting you to enjoy the full experience and discover all the features the app has to offer.
The Jazz Master Tracks catalog is also released on the streaming platforms so you can discover the music before buying the app.
The app is developed for iPhone iOS>15 (portrait mode only) and iPad (portrait and landscape mode).
Android version for smartphones and tablets is scheduled for spring 2023.
No magic here! Unlike apps using AI or dynamic equalizing promising vocal removal or instrument separation, we release albums which are specially recorded for the Jazz Master Tracks app. The studio sessions are live recordings with no overdubs, and mostly one take. To make the stems possible, the instruments are recorded acoustically separated.
